Either CRM or FRCM reinforced plasters, both systems represent an attempt to give an answer to some of the problems that have emerged following the massive use of traditional reinforced plaster, made with cement mortars and electro-welded mesh. Not in all cases, in fact, this technique has proved suitable to the nature of the buildings on which it is necessary to intervene. There is not always a good chemical-physical compatibility between wall supports and Portland cement-based products.
Moreover, we must not forget that the intervention with traditional reinforced plaster can correspond to a decrease in living comfort because of the waterproofing generated by the cement slabs.
From these premises Fornaci Calce Grigolin has developed with the line PALLADIO the idea to realize the materials constituting the reinforcement based on hydraulic lime NHL and aerial lime CL 90-S, to make them more suitable to the support on which they have to be applied, more compatible with the traditional masonry, both under the physical-chemical profile and under the mechanical one.
Lime-based mortars, in fact, maintain an elastic modulus similar to that of the support and substantially lower than cement-based ones and consequently limit the increase in stiffness of the structure, favoring the collaboration of the masonry with the reinforcement rather than the complete replacement of the resistant function.
